What Protocol does TotalAV use?

A ‘Protocol’ is a standard used to define a method of transferring data over a computer network i.e LAN or the Internet. Each protocol has its own method for how data is formatted when it is sent, and when it is received. In addition, each protocol has its own method of how data is compressed, and also how it checks for errors within data.

TotalAV uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) - 256 CBC through Open VPN

AES has been adopted by the U.S. government and is now used worldwide.
